Professor Green has thanked Lily Allen for her support during his rise to fame.
The rapper – real name Stephen Manderson – became good friends with Allen after he asked her via Facebook to feature on his new single ‘Just Be Good To Green’, and admits the first time he performed the track with her was “the maddest day” of his life.
He told The Sun: “She couldn’t be around for my set at Glastonbury, but we did the Wireless festival in London this month, which was phenomenal. It was nuts. It was the first time we had performed ‘Just Be Good to Green’ together live. It was the maddest day of my life.”
“She’s been incredible to me. There are very few people I have met in this industry that I count as real friends. And with her it’s definitely reached that.”
Lily Allen has confirmed that she has written ten tracks for the upcoming Bridget Jones musical.
The singer, who won an Ivor Novello award for songwriting earlier this year, said that she is “hugely proud” of her work on the production, which opens next year.
She told The Mirror: “Everyone thinks it’s just one or two songs. But I’ve now had ten accepted and they look to be making the final cut for the show.
“I’m hugely proud of this and it’s something I’ve worked really bloody hard on. The money would be great but it’s being recognised as a songwriter and lyricist that truly excites me.”
Lily Allenhas hit back at Alan Carr after he launched a furious rant at the singer for pulling out of a slot on his talk show.
The Smile hitmaker axed an appearance on Alan Carr: Chatty Man this week along with a planned U.K. radio interview when she was struck down with illness.
Camp comic Carr blasted Allen when he heard the news, branding her a “fucking bitch” and telling his TV audience he suspects she has a “vendetta” against him.
But the sickly singer took to her Twitter to hit back at Carr, insisting she was too ill to appear on the show.
She writes, “Sorry Alan, but I can’t help being ill. If it’s any consolation I feel awful. I wouldn’t have been any fun at all. I do think your comments are a bit strong though. Unless you were being sarcastic and your words were taken out of context.”
The episode where Lily was supposed to appear on will air this Sunday July 11th at 10:30 PM on Channel 4.

Lily Allen has pulled out of two of her final promotional pop appearances, citing ill health.
The Smile hitmaker is due to take a hiatus from music later this year and has only a handful of gigs left before she begins concentrating on other business ventures, including the launch of her fashion boutique.
She has been busy promoting a new duet with U.K. rapper Professor Green, and announced in a post on Twitter.com on Tuesday (July 6th) that she would join the hip-hop star on a British radio programme as well as TV talk show Alan Carr: Chatty Man.
But the singer has now cancelled both appearances due to illness. A spokesman for Allen tells WENN, “She is not well so had to pull the shows.”
No details of Allen’s condition were released, but she is expected to make a full recovery.
Lily Allen’s promise to Professor Green has to wait, because Lily Allen will not be performing at Glastonbury this year.
She promised to sing with him at Glastonbury AND gave him a £10,000 black Rolex with his name inscribed on it.
The Prof said: “It is the best present I’ve ever had, I’m blown away.”
But this afternoon Lily tweeted out she had to leave early, and therefore wouldn’t be able to sing.
